About this game

A continuation of VREN's Lab Rats 2 with a stack of new features, configurable options and quality-of-life upgrades stacked on top of the original sandbox. Built for players who want the original loop with the rough edges sanded down. Heavy on mind control and pharmaceutical corruption.

Installation

Download the full game.
Extract the zip file.
Start game with "Lab_Rats2_Reformulate.exe".
The settings can be configured or en-/disabled from your bedroom also check game preferences for various global settings.
Done.

Beta Version

Since the original game has been abandoned, we have decided to move forward and move everything into one repository and upgrade to Renpy 8.1. If you are willing to help, find issues and accept the implications (breaking save games), you are encouraged to help us improve the game and report the issues on the Discord Channel or the GITGUD Issue Tracker. NOTE: Since assets are now in the GIT repository a simple download will take 1.8Gb to download, use GIT to obtain code version to allow for easy update
Automated installation of BETA version and MODS (windows only): - Download and install GIT for Windows

Use one of these to automate the GIT download process - Download batch file and place in empty folder (like C:\games\LR2) (Windows only)
Or the new powershell script that should run on any OS with powershell installed - Run batch / powershell file and choose what to install (for updating, run batch / powershell file again)
When using batch file extract the LR2R-Runtime in the root folder, the powershell script does this automatically. Manual Installation of BETA only (any OS): Installation of BETA version: - Clone the LabRats 2 - Reformulate GIT Repository (make sure to enable GIT-LFS support)
Extract the LR2R-Runtime.zip in the root folder to get the executable and libraries How to make a GIT clone: - Download and install GIT for your OS
Open GIT-Bash from installation and install LFS support (one time activation): git lfs install - Navigate to root folder for example c:\games and create the GIT game folder: cd /c/games git clone https://gitgud.io/lab-rats-2-mods/lr2mods.git cd /c/games/lr2mods git checkout develop - To update with latest version open GIT-Bash (repeat when you want to update) cd /c/games/lr2mods git pull origin develop - Delete existing *.rpyc files from the 'game' folder to prevent any conflicts when files have changed
